National Exams 2024 – Results

The students of Pierce, both from the 12th grade of the General Lyceum and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), worked methodically and with dedication, preparing themselves thoroughly and seeing their efforts rewarded. We wish our graduates that their aspirations for admission to their top-choice schools, reflecting their interests both in Greece and abroad, come true.

We congratulate our graduates on their efforts and achievements. We also extend our congratulations to their parents and teachers who, throughout the six years of their studies at Pierce, prepared, supported, and guided our students systematically and comprehensively through this significant challenge. They helped manage exam-related stress and upheld the school’s long tradition of excellence.

A. General Lyceum – National Exams

Once again, the students of the 12th grade at Pierce – The American College of Greece – have come closer to gaining admission to the country’s top educational institutions. Through their efforts, focus, and discipline, they have honored the school’s tradition of excellence in the National Exams.

30% of our students achieved an average grade of “Excellent” (above 18), three times the national average (10.7%), securing admission to top-ranked university departments.

Pierce students achieved outstanding scores:

  • Mathematics (Specialized Track): Seven times the national percentage of top achievers. Specifically, in Economics & Computer Science Mathematics, 10.2% of Pierce students excelled (compared to the national average of 1.2%).
  • Physics: Four times the national percentage of top achievers.
  • Informatics, Chemistry, and History: Three times the national percentage of top achievers.

According to these scores:

  • 39 Pierce students will attend Polytechnic Schools in Greece, including 19 at the National Technical University of Athens (9 in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2 in Mechanical Engineering).
  • In the field of Health Sciences, 9 students were admitted to Medical Schools and 1 to Pharmacy.
  • 15 graduates will study Law, 8 of whom will attend the Law School of Athens. Additionally, 4 graduates from the class of 2023 chose studies in Mass Media and Psychology.
  • In the field of Economics & Informatics, 5 graduates will study Informatics, Telecommunications, and Digital Systems. 31 students were admitted to top Economics Schools, including programs in Management Science & Technology, Accounting & Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, and Statistics & Insurance.
  • Finally, 57% of this year's successful candidates will be attending universities in Athens and Piraeus.

B. General Lyceum – Studies Abroad

11 graduates from the Class of 2024 secured admissions to prestigious universities abroad, with some receiving full or partial scholarships (total scholarship amount: $2,883,000). Below are some of the universities that accepted our graduates:

D. Studies at Deree – The American College of Greece

A significant number of 2024 graduates have chosen to continue their studies at Deree, taking advantage of the 50% tuition scholarship offered to Pierce graduates. Many have opted for Parallel Studies, combining their Deree education with their public university program.

These outstanding results reaffirm Pierce’s educational excellence: students worked diligently, parents supported their efforts, and teachers provided comprehensive and methodical preparation.

Excellence and distinction are the rewards of hard work, making both the faculty and school administration proud of our students' achievements!
